Legal

Terms, in plain English

The short version: this site is information and a companion, not a clinician. The fee is one‑time and refundable for fourteen days. Don’t use the bot in a real emergency — phone 999.

What sober.guide is

An encyclopedia and a companion bot, written by James, a member of the public who has been sober from alcohol since June 2020. He is not a doctor, therapist, sponsor or counsellor. Nothing on this site is medical advice or a substitute for it.

What you are buying, if you pay

A one‑time unlock for the bot, on this device, for £29. There is no subscription. There is no auto‑renewal. You are not creating an account. You are not subscribing to anything.

Refunds

If you change your mind within fourteen days of paying, email hello@sober.guide from any address and the £29 is refunded in full, no questions. This is also your right under UK consumer law.

What you must not do

What I don’t promise

Liability, the lawyer’s paragraph

To the extent permitted by law, my liability for any loss arising from your use of this site is limited to the amount you paid for it. Your statutory rights as a UK consumer are not affected.

Changes

If the terms change in any meaningful way, the page is dated and the change is summarised at the top. Trivial edits are silent.
